The Community Wellbeing Network provides services including Community Intellectual Disability Services for both adults and children, Community and District Nursing, Dental services and Phlebotomy. As part of Lancashire Care’s redesign of community services for people with intellectual disability and/or autism, we are seeking to expand our current provision and recruit 4 additional Consultants in Psychiatry of Intellectual Disability to join our teams in the following areas of Lancashire:

Preston (10PAs), Chorley/South Ribble (10PAs) , Blackburn with Darwen (10PAs) and West Lancashire (5PAs).

You will be based in a well-established community Intellectual disability team; you will be required to work effectively with the MDT, to provide clinical leadership and contribute to the wider ongoing development of the Trusts community Intellectual disability service.

 

Successful candidates will carry a clinical caseload that includes people with Intellectual disabilities, autism or both including those who experience mental ill health, behavioural challenges, have forensic needs and those discharging from long stay or secure hospital provision including acting as a Community Responsible Clinician (cRC) within a care coordination model.
